Dependent Information
eFunds plans
will cover eligible dependents as defined below:
- Your legal spouse
(and, for certain benefits, your domestic partner)
- Your unmarried children
to age 19 who are dependent on you for support, including stepchildren,
legally adopted children, foster children, children under your
legal guardianship, children placed with you for adoption before
legal adoption is concluded, and children of your domestic partner
- Your unmarried children
who are full-time students, to age 25
- Your unmarried children
age 19 or older who are mentally or physically incapable of
self-support
- Your unmarried grandchildren,
to age 19, who have lived with you continuously from birth and
are claimed as exemptions on your Federal income tax return
Some plans have additional
eligibility requirements-for example, dependent life insurance requires
that your dependent children covered under the policy be at least
14 days old but under age 19. Such requirements will be clearly
noted in each benefit's description. This applies to the medical,
dental and vision plans permitting dependent coverage.
Dependents ineligible
for coverage include:
- Parents and grandparents
- Aunts and uncles
- Nieces and nephews
(unless you are their legal guardian)
- Boyfriends and girlfriends
who do not qualify as domestic partners
- Dependents in active
military service
- Individuals covered
under eFunds' benefits as an employee
