eFunds currently observes 10 paid holidays per year. Six of these holidays are “fixed” and are listed above. The remaining 4 days are personal or “floating” holidays to be used, with management approval, on days of an associate’s choosing. The company will recognize the first holiday of 2005, New Year's Day, on Friday, December 31, 2004.

For some associates, the company holiday schedule may differ from what is listed above based on the client work schedule. Associates may have more or fewer days designated as fixed holidays. Management reserves the right to determine the holiday schedule for each client group.

In order to be eligible for holiday pay, associates must work their assigned schedule on the day immediately before and after the holiday, unless prior approval for time off was granted (approved PTO, for example). Associates who are on “leave of absence” status will not be paid for holidays that occur during the leave of absence. Associates who are on disability leave and receiving partial pay will receive the same partial pay for a holiday if it occurs while on disability leave.

Accrual of Personal Holidays

  • Regular Full-time associates actively employed on the first business day of each calendar quarter accrue one personal holiday (8 hours) per quarter.
  • Regular part-time associates actively employed on the first business day of each calendar quarter accrue 10 hours of holiday time per quarter to use for fixed and personal holidays. Part-time associates may use PTO time to cover additional time off taken on a fixed holiday in excess of this bank of 40 holiday hours per year.
Use of Holidays
Personal/floating holidays cannot be used before they have been earned for the quarter. Fixed holidays cannot be deferred and used on another day.

Procedure
Associates should obtain their manager’s approval for using personal holidays at least 24 hours in advance (two weeks is preferred). Managers of exempt associates submit their time off using the monthly PTO department summary. Non-exempt associates submit their time on their weekly timesheets.

Termination
Holidays (fixed and floating) are not paid out at termination and are not eligible for carryover into the next calendar year except to the extent required by law.
